Started
What is the Open Enrollment Period?
The Open Enrollment period is a period of time, determined by your employer, during which you are allowed to make any changes to your current benefits.
What is a new employee and when do benefits become effective for employees hired on or after January 1st, 2021?
A new employee is defined as an employee without active benefits. If you are a Part-time employee with a pay code of B, E, F, or L, you are eligible to participate.
You may enroll in the Cigna SureFit, OAP Standard or OAP High healthcare plan and/or Flexible Benefits for you and/or your eligible dependents. Benefits will be effective the first of the following month. The cost of these benefits will NOT be deducted from your paycheck.
When are the benefits effective and for how long?
The benefits are effective January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022.
Cigna Healthcare
No. This is a changes-only enrollment for Flexible benefits, therefore your current Flexible Benefits will continue for the 2022 plan year.
Flexible Benefits
No. This is a changes-only enrollment for Flexible benefits, therefore your current Flexible Benefits will continue for the 2022 plan year.
Coverage
How do I enroll?
Your open enrollment will take place on paper. You must complete and return the 2022 Open Enrollment form by November 16, 2021.
Do I need to enroll?
No. However, you will not be able to enroll in benefits until the following Open Enrollment period.
Can I enroll in Accidental Death & Dismemberment Coverage?
Yes, except if you are represented by the AFSCME labor union. AFSCME employees CAN NOT enroll in this benefit.
